AI Visibility
What do AI answers say about your organisation?
AI assistants are becoming another place where people research companies, explore industries and compare potential suppliers.
Your organisation may be described accurately when someone searches for it by name, yet rarely appear when people ask for recommendations in your category. Important information may also be missing, outdated or presented differently from your intended positioning.
AI Visibility examines how your organisation appears in AI-generated answers, how accurately it is represented and where improvements to your public information could help.
The findings provide a practical basis for strengthening your communications and online presence.
When is AI Visibility useful?
You might want to understand how AI assistants describe your company, products or expertise.
Perhaps you've recently changed your positioning, launched a new product or entered a market and want to see whether those developments appear in AI-generated answers.
You may also notice competitors being recommended for services you provide, while your organisation is rarely mentioned.
An assessment helps establish what the tested systems currently show, where important information is missing and what deserves attention.
What do we examine?
AI representation
How accurately is your organisation described?
I compare AI-generated descriptions with your actual business, positioning and supporting evidence.
The assessment identifies factual errors, outdated information, missing capabilities and potentially misleading descriptions.
AI discoverability
Does your organisation appear in relevant searches?
I test selected questions related to your business category, services, use cases and target audiences.
The review shows when your organisation is mentioned, how it is positioned alongside alternatives and where it is absent from the tested answers.
Public information and evidence
What information is available to support those answers?
I examine your website, media coverage, industry publications and other relevant public information.
Where an AI system provides sources, I review those references to understand what they contain and whether they accurately represent your organisation.
This helps identify gaps in positioning, supporting evidence and the information available to people researching your business.
How does the assessment work?
We begin with your communications objectives and the questions your intended audiences are likely to ask.
I develop a relevant set of queries and examine how selected AI systems respond, documenting the answers, company mentions and available source references.
The findings are compared with your organisation's actual positioning and publicly available evidence.
From there, I identify practical improvements to the information you publish and the way your expertise, products and capabilities are communicated.
The scope depends on what you need to investigate, from a focused category review to a broader assessment across several audiences or topics.
What will you receive?
01 · AI Visibility Baseline
A documented view of how your organisation appears across the selected AI systems and queries.
This includes findings on description accuracy, category positioning and discoverability.
02 · Information & Evidence Review
An assessment of the public information relevant to those findings, including outdated descriptions, inconsistencies, missing evidence and opportunities to strengthen your positioning.
03 · Prioritised Improvement Plan
Practical recommendations for improving your website information, messaging, expert content and other relevant communication materials.
Where appropriate, I can also help develop and implement these improvements, including supporting PR and media relations activity.
A follow-up assessment can be agreed separately to examine whether the tested answers have changed.
An example of what the assessment can reveal
Accurately described. Rarely recommended.
A company can be correctly identified by an AI assistant when asked about it directly, yet appear infrequently in recommendations for its business category.
This distinction has appeared in testing conducted through my PR Audit tool.
The assessment examines both types of answers and the available public information to identify what deserves further investigation.
The findings may suggest opportunities to improve category positioning, explain relevant use cases more clearly or strengthen the evidence supporting the company's expertise.
Example drawn from PR Audit testing, not a claim of a client outcome.
What are the limitations?
AI-generated answers can vary between systems, queries and dates. A single assessment provides a documented view of the tested conditions rather than a permanent measure of visibility.
Source references can help investigate what information is being surfaced, but they do not reveal every factor behind an AI-generated answer.
Improvements to content and public information can make your organisation easier to understand and verify. They cannot guarantee inclusion in AI-generated recommendations or a particular ranking.
How does this relate to PR Readiness?
A dedicated AI Visibility review focuses on the questions, audiences and information sources relevant to your organisation, with tailored analysis and practical recommendations.
You can use it independently or as part of a wider communications assessment.
